About this place
Camel Beach, known in Turkish as Deve Plajı, is one of the most distinctive and entertaining beaches on the Bodrum peninsula, a wide sandy bay on the northern coast near Gümüşlük. The beach takes its name from the camel rides offered along the shoreline, a popular and uniquely memorable experience that sets it apart from the peninsula's many other beautiful beaches. Clear Aegean waters and a lively beach club atmosphere complete the picture.
Tips
The camel rides are the undisputed highlight and best enjoyed in the morning before the midday heat sets in, so arrive early to make the most of the experience. The beach gets busy during peak summer months, so arrive early to secure a good spot on the sand or book a sun lounger at the beach club in advance. The surrounding area is relatively undeveloped compared to busier parts of the peninsula, giving the beach a pleasantly relaxed and natural atmosphere. Camel Beach is most easily reached by car or taxi from Bodrum town, as public transport connections to this part of the peninsula are limited.
