About this place
Nevizade Street is one of Istanbul's most legendary and lively dining and nightlife destinations, a narrow alley just behind the Flower Passage in the heart of Beyoğlu. Lined end to end with traditional meyhanes spilling tables onto the cobblestones, it comes alive each evening with the clinking of rakı glasses, plates of fresh meze, and the sounds of fasıl music drifting through the air.
Tips
Arrive in the early evening to secure a table at one of the meyhanes before the street fills to capacity, as Nevizade gets extremely busy on weekends and throughout summer. Order a selection of cold and hot mezes to share alongside a bottle of rakı diluted with water and ice for the most authentic experience. The street is just steps from the Flower Passage and Balık Pazarı fish market, making the three a natural and rewarding triangle to explore together. Nevizade is best experienced on a warm evening when the tables overflow onto the cobblestones and the street takes on a truly festive atmosphere.
