About this place
Ortakent Beach is one of the longest and most popular beaches on the Bodrum peninsula, stretching along a wide sandy bay on the southern coast around eight kilometres west of Bodrum town. Backed by the charming village of Ortakent-Yahşi and sheltered from the open sea, the beach offers calm, clear Aegean waters ideal for swimming and water sports. Its relaxed atmosphere and excellent facilities make it a favourite with families and longer-stay visitors.
Tips
Arrive early during peak summer months to secure a sun lounger at one of the beach clubs lining the shore, as Ortakent gets busy from July through August. The western end of the beach tends to be quieter and more relaxed, while the central section offers the best range of water sports and facilities. The village of Ortakent-Yahşi just behind the beach has a good selection of restaurants, cafés, and local shops, making it an ideal base for a full day out of Bodrum town. Dolmuş minibuses run regularly between Bodrum town centre and Ortakent, making it easily and affordably accessible without a car.
